Rob Succeeds in Articulating Vision in Presidential Debates

Addressing the Senate and some visitors yesterday, Rob laid out a plan for his presidency rooted in the values of community. In a debate that lasted about an hour and a half, Rob answered questions that ranged from campus life to personal competency. By outlining his experience as both a member of the community through organizations like Sustained Dialogue and programs like June Orientation that have allowed him to meet a variety of Denisonians, Rob showed how he has been able to connect with students and understand their opinions about the Denison experience. In talking about his experience as the chair of the Rules Committee and as a class Co-Governor, Rob was able to show that he has the skills to succeed in the position. Rob laid out a vision for Denison in which each student "means it when singing 'the home we love so well' in the alma mater." By creating a culture in which "it's time well spent to meet people different from yourself," Rob showed a vision of what Denison's "next step" should be.
